English River
Christened after a small northern Ontario river, the English River was launched in 1961 to carry palletized freight and, at times, vehicles until it was converted to a self-unloading bulk cement carrier in 1973.
All hazardous materials, salvageable equipment and memorabilia were removed from the English River. The ship was dismantled, and the materials recycled.
Work on the English River began in March 2017 and was completed December 2017.
